Hundreds of 911 calls meant for Toronto police were rerouted to other emergency services on Tuesday due to what police described as “technical issues.”
More than 200 calls were affected between 11:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., according to a Toronto police spokesperson.
Police said 911 operators were still able to receive calls, but a technical error “caused some 911 calls to be delivered to partnering emergency services as per established redundancies.”
Officials said all calls have since been accounted for, but the cause of the issue remains unclear.
