The TDSB has named its newest CEO and chief financial officer.
In a press release Friday, the TDSB announced that Camillo Cipriano will be taking the reins as the board’s newest CEO.
Cipriano currently serves as the director of education and CEO of the Niagara Catholic District School Board, a position he has held since 2020.
Stacey Zucker, the current interim director of the TDSB, will transition into the board’s chief financial officer and chief operations officer.
“We are pleased to welcome Camillo to this new CEO role and the experience he brings to the Toronto District School Board at an important time for our system.” said Rohit Gupta, the Ontario government-appointed supervisor of the TDSB.
“His experience leading organizational improvement, strengthening financial sustainability, and improving student outcomes will help support TDSB’s long-term success,”
According to the TDSB, Cipriano received his honours bachelor of commerce from McMaster University and his master of education from Niagara University Graduate School.
“I am honoured to join the Toronto District School Board at such an important time for public education. TDSB has a long-standing commitment to student success and achievement, and I am excited to build on that foundation with all the staff, students, families, and communities that make the TDSB so unique,” said Cipriano.
He starts his new role on June 8.
