More than $1M in jewelry taken at gunpoint in downtown Toronto robbery

Toronto police are appealing for help after masked suspects stole more than $1M in jewelry at gunpoint earlier this month.

Toronto police are once again appealing to the public after jewelry, now estimated to be worth over $1 million was stolen at gunpoint earlier this month.

In an updated news release, officials say officers responded to a robbery call at around 4:50 a.m. on May 10 in the Spadina Avenue and Bremner Boulevard area.

Police allege four masked men approached victims who were sitting inside a parked vehicle and held them at gunpoint before stealing jewelry and fleeing in a vehicle.

At the time, surveillance video of the incident showed the suspects running to a waiting vehicle that police identified as a blue Nissan Rogue with stolen licence plates.

Officials say one of the victims suffered minor injuries during the incident.

Previously, the estimated the value of the stolen jewelry was believed to be around $500,000. Police now say the jewelry has been appraised at more than $1 million.

New images of the jewelry have also been released as investigators continue to search for the individuals involved.
