Peel police say arrests have been made in connection with a major extortion investigation that targeted South Asian business owners in Brampton and Mississauga.
An update will be provided by investigators with the Extortion Task Force at a news conference at 9 a.m.
Police said multiple arrested have been made in connection with a “violent” criminal network that has been tied to incidents across Canada and the United States.
