It was quickly knocked down, Toronto Fire told CP24, but crews continued to douse the building to control hot spots throughout the night.

No injuries were reported.

2 fires at same site in ‘recent days’: chief

In a post on X on Monday night, Toronto Fire Chief Jim Jessop said this is the second fire at that location in “recent days,” adding it is believed that they were both caused by lithium-ion batteries “in thermal runway.”

“The frequency and intensity of LIB fires continue to increase across our city, along with the risk to the public and firefighters,” he wrote.
