One person is dead and another was injured following a crash involving a motorcycle in Scarborough on Monday afternoon.
The crash happened in the Malvern neighbourhood, near Markham Road and Nugget Avenue, just north of Sheppard Avenue East.
Toronto police said they were called to that area just before 2 p.m. for reports of a multi-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.
Police said a 42-year-old man was operating a black Honda motorcycle westbound when a 53-year-old woman driving a green Ford Fusion made a left turn to enter a private driveway and struck the motorcycle.
“The Ford Fusion then struck a third vehicle, a black Dodge Hornet being driven by a 25-year-old male, that was stationary in the driveway waiting to exit onto Nugget Avenue,” police said in a news release published Tuesday.
The motorcyclist was rushed to hospital in critical condition but later died of his injuries.
The driver of the Ford fusion was also taken to hospital with minor injuries. The Dodge Hornet driver was not injured, police said.
“The circumstances surrounding the collision will be part of the ongoing investigation,” a media officer said in a follow-up email to CTV News Toronto.

Nugget Avenue was closed between Markham Road and Dovedale Court for the ongoing investigation.
