Travelling within the GTA may take longer than usual tonight, with delays affecting all GO Transit train lines.

According to Metrolinx, the delays were caused by a switch issue that has since been resolved.

“We are currently experiencing delays across all rail corridors. Some trips are being modified, and we encourage customers to plan ahead and check gotransit.com for the latest service updates,” Metrolinx said in a statement.

“We appreciate our customers’ patience during this disruption.”

The signal issue is affecting GO train service on the Lakeshore East, Lakeshore West, Kitchener, Barrie, Richmond Hill and Stouffville lines.

Delays of up to 55 minutes have been reported.

The disruptions come one day after Metrolinx reported delays on the UP Express, as well as the Kitchener and Barrie GO lines, due to a stalled train.
