Durham Regional Police are searching for two suspects after an elderly woman was robbed and assaulted in Ajax last week while gardening.
It happened at about 4:30 p.m. on May 17 in the area of Old Harwood Avenue and Bray Drive, near the intersection of Rossland Road and Harwood Avenue North.
Investigators say a 76-year-old woman was gardening in front of her home when a vehicle driven by a male suspect pulled up.
A female suspect exited the vehicle, assaulted the woman and stole several gold bracelets and a necklace from the victim, then threw fake jewelry at her before both suspects fled, police said in a news release.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
Police are asking anyone with dashcam or surveillance footage, or any information about the incident, to contact them.
