Two-alarm blaze at Scarborough house shuts down streets in area

Toronto fire and police are on the scene of a two-alarm fire in Scarborough.

Police say calls reporting the house fire at Ellesmere Road and Pharmacy Avenue came in at 1:33 p.m. Sunday.

On X, Toronto Fire Service said that one injured person was being cared for by Toronto paramedics.

As a result of the blaze, several roads are closed in the area.

Parkwoods Village Drive at Victoria Park Avenue is closed eastbound.

Ellesmere Road at Warden Avenue is closed westbound.

Those commuting in the area are being asked to consider other routes.
