Toronto police search for suspect after man found shot in Fort York

Toronto police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect, after a man in his 20s was found shot in Fort York.

Police received reports of a sound of a gunshot at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.

They found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

They say the suspect was seen fleeing the area in a red-coloured SUV.

A spokesperson for the Toronto Police Service said the incident happened outside and is believed to have been targeted.

“The investigation is in its early stages and officers are still on scene investigating as to what let up to the shooting,” media relations officer Ashley Visser wrote in an email.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-1400.
