Police are releasing images of a suspect wanted in what they’re calling an “unprovoked” attack in Toronto’s east end.
In a news release issued Tuesday, police said officers were called to the area of Coxwell Avenue and Queen Street on May 17 at approximately 7:52 p.m. for an assault.
The suspect and victim were on a streetcar when the assault occurred. The victim was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
It’s unclear if there was any interaction between the suspect and the victim prior to the assault.
The suspect fled the area.
Police said the suspect is in his mid to late 20s, with a slim build, dark twists in his hair, and was last seen wearing a basketball jersey, black pants, running shoes, and a black crossbody bag.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police at 416-808-5500 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
