Woman turns herself in after alleged TTC subway station elevator assault

Police have released photos of a suspect wanted in connection to an assault in an elevator at Main Street Station on May 28.

A 22-year-old woman turned herself in to police after allegedly assaulting a victim in a TTC subway station elevator last week.

The incident happened on May 28 in the Main Street TTC station around 5 p.m.

The victim was brought to the hospital with minor injuries, according to Toronto police investigators.

The suspect fled the scene. After police released images of the suspect the day before, they said she surrendered on Wednesday.

The suspect, identified as Shanelle Matthew, has been charged with one count of assault.
