Delays of up to 25 minutes possible on Line 1 on Monday as TTC wraps up work ahead of World Cup

CP24’s Courtney Heels has the latest on the work being done on the TTC in preparation for the start of the World Cup.

Commuters should build in some extra time to get to work on Monday morning amid delays on Line 1 while the TTC wraps up maintenance work ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

The TTC is implementing single-track operation between Lawrence West and Wilson stations on Monday, meaning both northbound and southbound trains will run on the same track.

The TTC previously said delays of up to 25 minutes can be expected in the area.

The work is being done to eliminate multiple reduced speed zones on the line in advance of the World Cup. Toronto’s first match of the tournament will be held on Friday.

Shuttle buses will operate between the stations and staff will be onsite to assist customers.
