The operator of a e-scooter has been seriously injured following a collision involving a vehicle in North York early Monday evening, police say.

The crash happened in the Willowdale neighbourhood, near Sheppard Avenue East and Longmore Street, which is north of Highway 401 and west of Bayview Avenue.

Toronto police said they were called to that area around 6:20 p.m. for reports of a collision between an e-scooter and a vehicle.

There, emergency responders located a male in his 30 with serious injuries. He was operating the scooter, they said.

Police later said his injuries are non-life-threatening.

Westbound Sheppard Avenue East was closed at Longmore Street as police investigated, but has since reopened.
