Regular service has resumed in the downtown portion of Line 1 after it was halted due to smoke at track level at Union Station.
Trains were not running between College and Osgoode Stations for more than an hour due to the incident.
The closure came as soccer fans headed to the FIFA Fan Festival in Fort York to watch the opening match of the World Cup between Mexico and South Africa.
The TTC advised fans to use the 29 Dufferin buses or the 511 Bathurst streetcar to get to the Fan Fest.
