CP24’s crime analyst Steve Ryan says two police officers suffered minor injuries while executing an arrest on two suspects at Toronto Stadium.

Two people from Germany have been arrested after an assault on police at Toronto Stadium this afternoon, police allege.

Toronto police said officers and security personnel responded shortly after 2 p.m. to reports of an altercation in the stands during a match between Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

When officers tried to eject a fan, items were thrown at them, police said.

“Additional officers were deployed to assist, and the situation was subsequently brought under control,” police said in a news release.

Two officers sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

In an email to CTV News, a Toronto police spokesperson said two men that were part of the Bosnian fan group were arrested.

They have been identified as 27-year-old Eldar Grabovac and 25-year-old Emir Colic, both from Germany.

They have been charged with assaulting a peace officer.
