A 41-year-old man is facing 19 charges after allegedly assaulting people with a weapon and damaging several vehicles in Toronto’s east end.
Toronto police say at about 8:45 p.m. last Friday they responded to several calls for assaults near Coxwell and Danforth avenues.
Tharshan Thaparanantham, 41, of no-fixed-address, was arrested and charged with one count each of possession of a weapon, assault cause bodily harm, and obstruct peace officer, two counts each of mischief to property under $5000 and fail to comply with probation order, and 12 counts of assault with a weapon. The charges have not been tested in court.
He was scheduled to appear in bail court on June 13.
This assault investigation is ongoing and investigators believe that there are more witness and victims. An image of the accused has been released.
