Before hopping on the TTC, commuters can check out a map that provides real-time alerts of what service changes or detours there may be along their ride.

The Toronto Transit Commission is piloting an interactive Live Map in an effort to provide a comprehensive view of subway and light rail transit service across its network.

The transit network says bus and streetcar routes will be added in a future update later this year.

So far, commuters can see a map of all subway and LRT lines in Toronto with a list of up-to-date service statuses from outages to disruptions as well as current information about subway stations, including actual departure times.

The map also displays which subway stations are accessible.

Commuters can find the map online through a dedicated webpage or in the Live Service Alerts section on the TTC’s website.

The TTC says it is releasing this Live Map in stages so it can collect customer feedback and enhance the map before adding in more features.
