Toronto will once again become a hub for World Cup action today as Germany and Ivory Coast supporters gather at watch parties across the GTA ahead of an afternoon match at Toronto Stadium.

The 4 p.m. kickoff comes after both teams opened their campaigns with wins on June 14. Germany cruised to a 7-1 victory over Curaçao, meanwhile Ivory Coast edged Ecuador 1-0.

For fans unable to attend the match in person, several watch parties are planned across the city and surrounding areas.

Germany supporters have multiple gathering spots

German fans will have a number of options throughout the GTA, including Amsterdam Brewhouse at 245 Queens Quay W. and The Pint Public House at 277 Front St. W. in downtown Toronto.

In Durham Region, Club Loreley Oshawa will host supporters at its German-Canadian cultural club on Dean Avenue. Organizers say membership is not required to attend.

Fans in Peel Region can also gather at Hansa Haus on Hurontario Street in Mississauga.

Ivory Coast fans gathering in Toronto

Supporters of Ivory Coast are expected to congregate at two Toronto venues: Instant du Palais on Mount Pleasant Road and Le Plato on Danforth Avenue.

Fans from both countries can also visit Toronto’s Fan Festival located at Fort York National Historic Site and The Bentway (250 Fort York Blvd.). There is also a live broadcat taking place right in Nathan Phillips Square.

This match will be the latest chapter in Toronto’s month-long role as a World Cup host city.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. Fans at home can catch gametime action on LIVE across TSN and CTV. Some games are also available to stream on Crave.
