A man is in hospital following a stabbing in downtown Toronto on Monday night.

The incident happened near Church Street and Adelaide Street East.

Toronto police said they were called to that area just after 8:30 p.m. for reports of a stabbing.

There, officers found a male in his 40s who had been stabbed.

Paramedics said they transported a patient to the hospital with moderate, non-life-threatening, injuries.

Investigators are saying that this incident “possibly” occurred in a nearby park.

A suspect fled the area prior to police arrival. He is described as a white male and standing five-foot-10, and wearing a black jacket, black pants, and a black baseball cap.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with further information is asked to contact Toronto police at 416-808-5100 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
