Man rushed to hospital after being shot in Etobicoke

A man has been seriously injured in a shooting in Etobicoke.

Toronto police say they were called shortly after 6:30 p.m. to the area of Scarlett Road and Scarlettwood Court, north of Eglinton Avenue West, for a shooting.

Officers located an adult male victim with gunshot injuries.

Toronto paramedics tell CTV News that the victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a trauma centre.

Police say the suspect or suspects had already fled before officers arrived. No descriptions have been released.

Police add that they have a large presence in the area for the investigation.
