Downtown intersection closed after pedestrian struck by driver

A major downtown intersection has been closed to traffic after a pedestrian was struck by a driver.

It happened near Sherbourne and Dundas streets at around 9:45 a.m.

Police say that the pedestrian was rushed to hospital via emergency run.

The severity of their injuries is not immediately clear.

Police say that Dundas Street is closed at Sherbourne Street.

“Use alternate routes,” police said in a message posted to social media.
