Ontario man facing several charges following violent Leslieville brawl

An 18-year-old man from Lindsay, Ont. is facing numerous charges following a violent altercation in Toronto’s east end late last month.

The incident happened in the Leslieville neighbourhood, near Queen Street East and Leslie Street.

Toronto police say they were called to that area on May 31 at around 10:30 p.m.

Investigators say a fight broke out between a group of people, during which one man sprayed a victim with a noxious substance.

They said a second victim was slashed by another man with an edged weapon. He was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries, said police.

On June 25, Liam Jackman, 18, of Lindsay, was arrested and charged with one count each of carry concealed weapon, possess weapon dangerous, assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, and assault as well as three counts of administer noxious thing.

The charges have not been tested in court.

Jackman was scheduled to appear in bail court on June 26.

There are no further suspects outstanding.
