Toronto will see a stretch of hot and humid weather this week, with the temperature feeling like it’s in the 40s at points.
According to Environment Canada, the city will see a high of 29 C today that will feel like 32 with the humidity.
But there is a big warmup on tap starting Tuesday that will see the mercury soar past 30 C on five consecutive days.
Environment Canada says that the temperature on Tuesday will hit 32 C but feel like 41 with the humidity.
The weather agency is then predicting daytime highs of 35 C for Canada Day on Wednesday, 35 C on Thursday, 34 C on Friday and 32 C on Saturday.
Overnight lows, meanwhile, won’t dip below 23 C until the weekend, providing little relief from the heat.
Environment Canada is forecasting a mix of sun and cloud for the majority of the week, though it says there is a 40 per cent chance of showers with the risk of thunderstorms on Tuesday and a 30 per cent chance of showers for Canada Day on Wednesday.
The heat will ease as of Sunday but not by much with a daytime high of 28 C still expected.
The average daytime high at this time of tear in Toronto is 26 C.
