The entire Line 6 Finch West LRT remained suspended Tuesday evening after service stopped at 8 a.m. due to a “communication issue.”
Instead of a light rail vehicle, shuttle buses operated the whole day between Finch West Station and Humber College Station.
Line 6 was shut down as Toronto sizzled under a heat wave that is expected to last the whole week, bringing daytime highs of above 30 C with humidex values in the 40s.
It is unclear whether the hot conditions were to blame.
In a statement to CTV News, a TTC spokesperson said that they were advised by Metrolinx that “their maintainers” were investigating the issue.
The Line 5 Eglinton LRT also faced some delays of up to 20 minutes between Mount Dennis and Kennedy stations.
It was resolved on Tuesday night.
The arrival of the heat wave also prompted GO Transit to run their trains at reduced speed, which resulted in some delays.
