Road crew worker struck by vehicle in Stouffville suffers serious injuries

A road crew worker was seriously injured after they were struck by a vehicle in Stouffville early Tuesday morning.

York Regional Police said a member of the crew was working on Stouffville Road, between Warden Avenue and Kennedy Road, shortly after 3 a.m. when they were hit.

Paramedics told CP24 that two people were assessed at the scene and that one was transported to a trauma centre in serious condition.

No other details have been released.

Road closures are in effect and police are advising drivers to avoid the area.
