Suspect armed with knife assaulted person in Scarborough park, police say

Toronto police one person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after an assault at a park in Scarborough.

According to police, officers were called to Morningside Park, located near Ellesmere Road and Morningside Avenue, at around 5:40 a.m. for reports of an assault.

Police were told that the suspect was armed with a knife, according to investigators.

One person was taken to hospital in serious, but non-life-threatening, condition.

The suspect has been described by police as a Black male, possibly in his teens, who is about five feet, seven inches tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing black pants and a black sweatshirt.

The investigation is ongoing.
