A Toronto police officer was seriously injured while arresting a suspect following a foot pursuit in the north end of the city earlier this morning.
Officials say officers responded to a “suspicious incident” in the Avenue Road and Wilson Avenue area at approximately 11 a.m.
Police allege that when officers arrived, two vehicles fled the area and one suspect ran from the scene on foot.
Following a brief foot pursuit, officers arrested an adult male suspect.
One officer was injured during the arrest and was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
