Woman rushed to hospital after being struck by vehicle in Etobicoke

A woman has been rushed to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Etobicoke on Friday evening.

Emergency crews were called shortly after 7:45 p.m. for a collision in the area of The East Mall and Burnhamthorpe Road.

Toronto paramedics say the woman sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

As for the driver and the vehicle involved, Toronto police say they remained at the scene.

Road closures are in effect as police investigate the collision.
