A cyclist has been rushed to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries after they were struck by the driver of a cement truck in Toronto’s Moss Park neighbourhood on Monday morning.

It happened on Queen Street East at Berkeley Street at around 11:35 a.m.

Police say that the driver remained at the scene.

Aerial footage from CP24’s chopper shows the cement truck stopped in the intersection with police tape visible. The truck appears to have been completing a turn when it came to a stop.

Queen Street East was currently closed in both directions between Berkeley and Ontario streets but reopened at around 1:30 p.m.
