One person dead after Scarborough shooting, another rushed to hospital

Police say that one person is dead and another has been rushed to hospital via emergency run after a shooting in Scarborough on Monday afternoon.

Police say that one person is dead and another has been rushed to hospital via emergency run after a shooting in Scarborough on Monday afternoon.

Police say that they were first dispatched to the Victoria Park Avenue and Highway 401 area at around 3:20 p.m. for reports of a shooting.

One person was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Another victim was located nearby at Victoria Park and Sheppard avenues, police say. That individual has since been transported to hospital. Their condition is currently unknown at this time.

Police were unable to confirm if those injured shot each other, however Duty. Insp Jonathan Rose confirmed that the two shootings are connected.

“We are dedicating all necessary resources to this investigation.” said Rose.

Police say that the investigation is ongoing and there is no threat to public safety.

The shooting marks Toronto’s 17th homicide of the year.
