Police say that one person is dead and another has been rushed to hospital via emergency run after a shooting in Scarborough on Monday afternoon.
Police say that they were first dispatched to the Victoria Park Avenue and Highway 401 area at around 3:20 p.m. for a reported shooting.
Footage from the scene shows a significant police presence outside an apartment building on Terraview Boulevard, which is located immediately south of Victoria Park Avenue and Highway 401.
Multiple evidence markers are visible on the roadway in the footage.
Police say that one person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Another victim was located nearby at Victoria Park and Sheppard avenues, police say. That individual has since been transported to hospital with unknown injuries.
Footage from that scene shows police tape surrounding a TD Bank branch.
At this point it remains unclear how the two scenes are connected.
Police say that an “ongoing” investigation is underway and that homicide detectives have been called in.
