North York crash sends 7 to the hospital

Seven people were sent to hospital after a two-vehicle collision in North York that sent one car flipping over onto its side.

Paramedics say they transported seven people to the hospital after the drivers of two vehicles collided in North York late Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened near York University, just south of Steeles Avenue West and west of Jane Street.

Toronto police said they were called to that area just after 5:30 p.m. for reports of a crash, where one vehicle had flipped over.

Police said the occupants were trapped inside the vehicle. They have since been removed and were transported to the hospital via emergency run.

2 adults seriously hurt: medics

Toronto Paramedic Service say the patients are two adults with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, and five others who have minor injuries.

Police are advising drivers to expect delays in the area and asking them to use alternate routes

Murray Ross Parkway remains closed as police investigate.
