Woman in custody after stabbing in North York leaves 1 person critically injured

A stabbing in a neighbourhood near the Steeles and Islington area has left one victim with life-threatening injuries.

One person suffered life-threatening injuries following a stabbing in North York early Thursday morning.

Paramedics say they were called to Plunkett Road, near Islington and Steeles avenues, shortly after 1:15 a.m. for reports of a stabbing.

In an email to CP24, paramedics said an adult was found with serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

A 28-year-old woman was arrested a short time later, police said.

The victim and the accused are known to each other, according to investigators, and there is “no known threat the public safety,” police say.
