A 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy have been charged after one person was seriously injured in an assault at Woodbine Beach on Wednesday night.
Toronto police said they initially were called to the beach at 10:45 p.m. for a stabbing.
Investigators have since determined that a man and a boy approached one person and shortly after, they got into a verbal argument.
The two allegedly assaulted the person with an edged weapon and a BB gun. Police said the suspects later fled.
Meanwhile, the victim was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
In a news release on Saturday, police announced they had arrested the suspects, one of whom was identified as Shahabuddin Kabiry. The 17-year-old boy cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Both suspects, who are from Guelph, have been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, weapons dangerous and assault.
The teen is facing additional charges of assault with a weapon or imitation weapon and aggravated assault.
