Senior in life-threatening condition following Scarborough crash

A woman in her 70s is fighting for her life after a two-vehicle collision sent one vehicle crashing into a nearby building in southeast Scarborough on Monday afternoon.

The collision happened shortly before 4 p.m. in Toronto’s Port Union neighbourhood, near the intersection of Lawrence Avenue East and Charlottetown Boulevard, east of Centennial Boulevard.

Toronto paramedics said two people were taken to the hospital. The woman in her 70s was transported with life-threatening injuries, while another woman in her 40s was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are advising motorists to expect delays in the area.
