Service along Line 5 is back up and running following a fire at one of its stations.

The TTC said there was no service along a five-station stretch between Mount Pleasant and Don Valley stations.

Toronto Fire Services told CP24 they were called to 811 Eglinton Avenue East just after 10 a.m., adding that the station had been evacuated. That’s where Line 5’s Laird Station is located.

Fire services said there were reports of smoke from one of the train cars and that there was a “burning plastic smell.”

At around 11:30 a.m., the TTC said service resumed.
