Toronto has closed all of its outdoor pools and wading pools for a second day, as camps and daycares move indoors due to wildfire smoke.
The city says that select indoor pools will be extending their hours and indoor recreation facilities remain open.
City-run camps remain open, but all outdoor activities have been suspended or moved indoors where possible. Field trips are also cancelled.

All registered and drop-in outdoor recreation programs have been cancelled, postponed or moved indoors.
Child-care centres operated by the city remain open, but outdoor activities have been moved indoors.
This is the second consecutive day that the city has had to adjust its outdoor plans at its facilities due to the wildfire smoke. Outside of Toronto, outdoor pool and programming closures are also in effect in Mississauga.
An orange-level air quality warning remains in effect for Toronto and much of southern Ontario, and Environment Canada’s Air Quality Health Index is currently listed as “high risk.”
As such, individuals are advised to reduce or reschedule any strenuous activity outdoors.
