Toronto police are investigating after gunfire damaged a residential unit in the city’s downtown core early Sunday morning.
In a post to social media, officials say officers initially responded to reports of an explosion in the Adelaide Street West and John Street area shortly before 4 a.m.
When officers arrived, they located evidence of gunfire and determined a firearm had in fact been discharged. Police say a window of a residential unit was damaged in the shooting.
It’s unclear how many people are hurt, as police only noted that there were “minor injuries.”
No suspect description has been released.
Anyone with additional information is asked to come forward.
