Ontario Provincial Police has charged one of its own officers following an investigation into an on-duty incident during a traffic stop in North York, earlier this year.
The OPP says the incident happened on Jan. 2, when an officer driving an unmarked cruiser stopped a vehicle on Yonge Street. During the traffic stop, the officer discharged a “conducted energy weapon.” Police say the driver was arrested on Highway Traffic Act charges and was later taken to hospital for assessment.
As a result, the OPP PSU launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the arrest
That probe later led to the arrest of provincial constable Kevin Noh, 35, of Richmond Hill, who has nine years of service with the OPP.
Noh has been charged with assault and assault with a weapon under the Criminal Code.
Noh is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Toronto on Oct. 2, 2026.
