Police are searching for a man after an elderly woman was assaulted and robbed in broad daylight in North York last week.
The incident happened Thursday at about 2:15 p.m. in the area of Don Mills Road and Overlea Boulevard.
Police said an unknown male suspect approached the woman while she was walking across a bridge.
Investigators allege the suspect assaulted the victim, knocking her to the ground before stealing her gold necklace and fleeing northbound.
The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident.
Police said the victim and the suspect were not known to each other at the time of the assault.
Police described as a Black male, standing between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-6, with a thin build and medium-length curly black hair. He was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, black jogging pants with a white stripe down the side and black socks.
