A man who was wanted in connection with an assault investigation in Toronto’s Little India-area last Friday has been arrested and charged.
The incident happened on Aug.7 near Coxwell Avenue and Gerrard Street East.
Toronto police said they were called to that area at around 10 p.m. for reports of an assault.
Investigators say two people got into a verbal altercation.
The accused then allegedly assaulted the victim.
The two are “known to one another,” said police.
On Aug. 8, Muhammad Yasin, 26, of Toronto, was arrested.
He has been charged with one count of assault – choking, and two counts each of assault and fail to comply release order.
Yasin was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
