A commercial building fire closed several streets in downtown Toronto Thursday evening.
Emergency crews were called shortly before 6:30 p.m. to 304 Richmond Street West. after reports of a fire.
Toronto Fire Services reported heavy flames and smoke when crews arrived. The fire appeared to have originated on the roof of the building.
Officials said the fire has since been extinguished and no injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
Toronto police remain on scene, and several roads are closed as crews continue their work.
Westbound lanes along Richmond Street West are currently closed west of Duncan Street. Widmer Street is also closed north of Adelaide Street West, while John Street is closed between Adelaide Street West and Queen Street West.
