A man who was wanted by police in connection with a recent sexual assault inside a restaurant washroom in Toronto’s Parkdale neighbourhood has turned himself in.
The incident happened on Aug. 9, near Queen Street West and Jameson Avenue.
Toronto police said they responded to a call for a sexual assault in that area at around 3:30 a.m. that day.
Investigators allege that two people, one of whom was a man, were in a restaurant when he followed the other person into the washroom and sexually assaulted them before fleeing the area.
The victim, police said, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
On August 13, 2026, the suspect turned himself into police.
Saurav Tamang, 22, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with sexual assault. The charge has not been tested in court.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 25.
