E-scooter rider sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries after collision with parked car’s door: police

An e-scooter rider is in the hospital with serious injuries after hitting the open door of a parked car.

A 60-year-old man riding an e-scooter is critically injured following a collision with a parked car overnight in North York, according to police.

The collision happened at around 1:40 a.m. in the area of Driftwood Avenue and Jane Street.

Toronto Police said an e-scooter struck the open door of a parked car.

Paramedics said the person driving the e-scooter was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the 22-year-old male driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

Investigators are asking with footage of the incident to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
