Toronto police are investigating after reports of possible human remains were discovered at a Scarborough plaza in the Ellesmere Road and Markham Road area.

Toronto police are investigating after “possible human remains” were located in Scarborough late Sunday afternoon.

The discovery was made at the back of an industrial plaza at 2010 Ellesmere Rd., just west of Markham Road.

Toronto police say they were called to that area just before 6 p.m. for a “suspicious incident.”

“This investigation is ongoing, and there is no further information available at this time,” a media officer told CP24.

“If this is determined to be criminal in nature, or this is deemed to be a homicide, more information will be provided.”

Toronto Paramedic Services have confirmed that they attended the scene but would only say that they didn’t transport anyone to the hospital.

The entire plaza is taped off as police investigate.
