GO Transit says service has resumed on its Milton Line after a person was struck and killed by a train in Etobicoke early Monday morning.
In a service update posted online, officials said emergency crews were called to the scene near Kipling GO station. Trains were not moving through the area during the investigation.
Toronto police told CP24 that officers were called to the area of Kipling Avenue and Dundas Street West at approximately 4:15 a.m. for reports that a person was struck by a train. The person was subsequently pronounced deceased.
Police said an investigation is underway and if the incident is deemed to be criminal in nature, more information will be released.
GO Transit had warned of “significant” delays and cancellations for commuters before service resumed shortly after 7 a.m.
