A Toronto man is facing 19 charges in connection with the trafficking of a woman.

In Feb. 2025, the force’s Human Trafficking Unit launched an investigation in Toronto and Sault St. Marie, Ont.

Investigators allege “through a combination of deception, coercion, control, and threats,” a man trafficked a 32-year-old victim.

They say he also assaulted and threatened her with a firearm, and transported the woman from Sault Ste. Marie to Toronto to engage in sex work.

“The accused posted sexualized pictures of the victim which were used to distribute online,” police said.

On May 6, a Criminal Code search warrant was executed at an address in Vaughan, Ont.

As a result, Jaydon Anderson, 31, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with multiple charges, including kidnapping, forcible confinement, procuring/exercising control, and uttering threats/death or bodily harm.

He is also facing a number of drug- and firearms-related charges.

The charges have not been tested court.

Another search warrant was executed in relation to this case on Aug. 12 in North Bay.

It was led by Toronto police, with the help of members of the North Bay Police Service Street Crime Unit and Emergency Response Team and the OPP’s Human Trafficking Intelligence-led Joint Forces Strategy.

Anderson, whom police said had been unlawfully at large since April 30, was re-arrested. They say additional charges are expected to be laid.

He was scheduled to appear in bail court on Aug. 13.

In an email to CP24, a Toronto police media officer indicated that because this matter is now before the court, they cannot provide any further details, including information about the victim nor the duration of the alleged offense.

“No additional comments will be provided at this time,” Const. Cindy Chung said.

Investigators say they believe there may be more victims and are urging anyone who may have been victimized to contact them.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Toronto police at 416-808-4838 or humantrafficking@torontopolice.on.ca, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
