BTS fans are making their way to Rogers Stadium for the first of two shows of the popular K-pop boy group in Toronto.

A special weather statement remains in effect for Toronto and the rest of the Golden Horseshoe as thunderstorms roll through the region.

Environment Canada said showers and thunderstorms over parts of northeastern and southwestern Ontario will move to the east through the day.

“Given the potential for slow-moving showers and thunderstorms and for some areas to receive multiple rounds of precipitation, local amounts exceeding 50 millimetres are possible,” the federal agency said in its advisory.

It noted that these areas could see rainfall rates of up to 40 millimetres in an hour.

Environment Canada said rainfall amounts will vary across the region.

“There remains considerable uncertainty as to exactly which areas will receive the highest rainfall amounts,” the federal agency said.

“Additional showers are expected through Sunday, especially to the east of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay and over northeastern Ontario.”

Rainy conditions are expected to persist on Sunday with a daytime high of 21 C in Toronto.

This weekend is considered one of the busiest this summer, as multiple events, festivals, and concerts are being held, including the Canadian National Exhibition.

Tens of thousands are also expected to attend K-pop group BTS’s concerts at Rogers Stadium as part of their “ARIRANG” tour.
