An early morning truck fire has shut down all collector lanes on the eastbound 401 near Mississauga Rd. and it is expected to remain closed for several hours.

All eastbound collector lanes of Highway 401 have reopened in Mississauga following a transport truck fire, Ontario Provincial Police say.

Collector lanes were shut down at Winston Churchill Boulevard shortly before 2 a.m., although express lanes remain open.

In a social media post released at around 4 a.m., police said they expect the lanes to be closed “for several more hours” to “facilitate clean-up efforts.”

No injuries were reported.

“What a mess this morning,” CP24 Traffic Specialist Meital Sperling said on Friday.

The lanes reopened shortly before 11:30 a.m.
